Meet the ER Team: Jamie R.

Meet Jamie R., RT (R)(CT), CT/Radiology Technologist Lead. Jamie has been with MountainView for more than 13 years and rotates between ER at Aliante, ER at Skye Canyon and soon ER at Skye Hills.

We caught up with Jamie, while working out of Skye Hills to set up for opening day!

Why did you pursue a career in imaging?

During the start of my college days, I worked at an Emergency Veterinary Hospital at the front desk.  I always found myself in Radiology asking about the X-rays and decided to pursue a career in medical imaging.  I found a way to transfer what I liked about providing support and assistance to families at the veterinary hospital to human patients.

What do you want people to know about getting care at one of our ERs?

At our Free Standing ER locations, patients receive the same high-quality care and attention they would at the main hospital.  We're fully equipped, highly trained, and committed to delivering exceptional care, no matter what location.

Is there a moment in your career that stays with you that you can share?

There are many small moments that stay with me about this career choice.  I find great fulfillment in helping patients who are anxious or have moments of doubt.  I like being the person who helps them feel supported and capable of getting through their exam.  Anytime I help a patient complete their CT exam, especially when they have told me they could never do it because of claustrophobia, feels like a real win.

When you are not caring for patients, what do you do?

When I am not caring for patients, I love spending time with my family.  Traveling and exploring new places whenever we get the chance.  And no matter where I am, I'm always cheering for the Golden Knights.
