Meet the TCT Team: Laura B., TCT RN Coordinator
What do you do for our TCT clinic?
I am the TCT Coordinator for both the Autologous and Allogeneic programs. I coordinate care for patients from the consultation appointment, through the evaluation workup, donor selection, stem cell collection, admission to the hospital, and transplant. I am the point contact for patients who are in the transplant pipeline.
Why did your pursue a career in oncology, and specifically BMT care?
I’ve been in oncology since I became a nurse 13 years ago. I admired the clinicians who worked in oncology and wanted to be a part of a team of people who were passionate and compassionate about patient care. I’ve found the clinical challenge in oncology, and specifically bone marrow transplant, keeps me engaged and grounded. I really love being a part of the patient’s journey. I am so grateful to be trusted to do this work.
What would you want people to know about getting their care at MVH?
The TCT team here at MountainView is staffed full of people who are passionate and eager to provide quality transplant and cellular therapies here in Nevada. Many of us have been with the program from its inception, and feel deeply aligned with its mission and purpose.
When you aren’t caring for patients, what do you like to do?
I love rock climbing. I spend a lot of time outside with my daughter, our friends, and our dogs. I also just recently learned to knit.
