What do you do?
I’m one of the inpatient BMT RN’s that care for the TCT patients. We are responsible for the infusion/recording of the Bone Marrow cells or Car-T cells as well as daily care.
Why did you pursue a career in oncology/BMT?
About 17 years ago I had the opportunity to float to the Oncology unit and I was hooked. I loved the patients and their life stories, and I enjoyed the complexity of their care.
What do I want people to know about getting their care at MVH?
That the staff on the Oncology/BMT unit are the most caring, hard working nurses that I have ever come in contact with. We treat the patients like they are “our own family.”
When I’m not caring for patients what do I do?
I love to travel, mountain bike, kayak, hang with the family and read.
Anything else I’d like to share?
I am extremely proud to be part of this amazing team, and very humbled to be chosen to be the first Auto/Allo/Car-T nurse in the state of Nevada.
